Newsletter #3 - June 7, 2020
Hello Neighbors,
We continue to hope that all of you are staying safe and staying healthy. We have several updates this week within our mutual aid network.
Over the last few weeks, our country has risen up to fight to end racial injustice. Below you will find LS Mutual Aid's statement regarding the Black Lives Matter movement and our working document of anti racist resources.
"To Our Mutual Aid Community,
We are saddened by the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and the 400 other Black people that were murdered this year by police. We stand with the Black Lives Matter movement.
Mutual Aid has and always will be a political movement. Mutual Aid historically has been a powerful way for us to support each other because of the inequalities of our country that always target Black people the most. To continue this fight we have compiled a list of resources that can further educate ourselves, places to donate, who to call, and other calls to action. We continuously update this resource. We must remember that this fight is ongoing and we commit to being a part of it. If you have other resources that you think should be shared please reach out to lincolnsudburymutualaid@gmail.com.
Share this document with others as well.
Fight, speak up, educate."

In this fight to end racism, SURJ Boston would like to invite members of different communities to participate in a webinar about how to be an activist in the Black Lives Matter movement. A few of the LS Mutual Aid organizers will be joining this call and we hope that many of you will participate. This is a time for education and reflection, and we hope this webinar will provide many of you (and us) with that opportunity. Below you will find the link to register.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, June 9th at 8:00pm.

We would also like to update everyone on our quick call to action from this past week. With just one Facebook post 7 of our community members came together to donate clothes, flowers and funds for a family. We were able to drop these items off to the family this weekend. Thank you to all who came together to support a member of our community. It is incredible to see what we can accomplish together.
Additionally, we would like to update everyone on our redistribution efforts. We are currently focusing on finding new organizers, so we will be putting a freeze on our funds and allocations until June 15th. Our numerous lists of resources will continue to be updated during that time.
If you or anyone that you know would be interested in being more involved with our network, please reach out.
Stay well and stay safe. A reminder that our mailbox is always open.
All our best,
The Lincoln-Sudbury Mutual Aid Network
